Robert Horry

Robert Horry

Robert Keith Horry, born August 25, 1970, in Harford County, MD, is known as "Big Shot Rob" because of his clutch shooting. Horry grew up in Andalusia, Alabama and attended Andalusia High School, where he won the Naismith Alabama High School Player of the Year award after averaging 26.9 ppg his senior year. He attended the University of Alabama where he played alongside Latrell Sprewell. At Alabama, Horry helped the Tide roll to three SEC Tournament Titles and two berths in the NCAA's Sweet 16 round. He established the school record for career blocked shots with 282 and was selected to the All- SEC, the SEC All-Defensive and the SEC All-Academic teams. Read More>>


George Gervin

George Gervin, born April 27, 1952, in Detroit, MI, is a player whose record speaks for itself. Only Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan have won more league scoring championships than Gervin, who is tied with Allen Iverson at four, and he was the first guard ever to win three titles in a row. His career scoring average of 26.2 points per game is among the game's best as is his combined NBA/ABA total of 26,595 points. Read More>>


Chris Mullin

Chris Mullin was born on July 30, 1963 in Brooklyn, NY. Signing to play for St. John's University, Mullin in his freshman year averaged 16.6 points per game, setting the school freshman record for points scored. In his subsequent three years for the Redmen, he would be named Big East Player of the Year three times, named to the All-America team three times, receive the 1985 Wooden Award, USBWA College Player of the Year and lead his team to the 1985 Final Four. Mark Price

Mark Price was born February 15, 1964 in Bartlesville, OK. He attended Enid High School and eventually moved on to Georgia Tech, where he played collegiate basketball for four seasons. During his time at Georgia Tech, Price became a two-time All-American and four-time All ACC player. He also helped the Yellow Jackets claim the ACC Championship, with a win over North Carolina, in his junior year. He was named the ACC MVP for the 1984-85 season and his jersey would be retired by Georgia Tech. Read More>>


Darryl Dawkins

Darryl Dawkins, born January 11, 1957, in Orlando, Florida, burst onto the national scene in 1975 when he became the first player to make the transition directly from high school to the NBA. He attended Maynard Evans High School in Orlando, where, in his senior year, he led his team to the Florida State Championship. That summer, Dawkins chose to renounce his college eligibility and applied for the 1975 NBA Draft as a hardship candidate.  Read More>>


Sam Perkins

Samuel Bryce Perkins, born June 14, 1961 in Brooklyn, NY, was known on the court as "The Big Smooth." Off the court, he is also an artist, film-maker, and sailor. Perkins attended Shaker High School in Latham, NY, where he graduated in 1980. In his junior season, Perkins averaged 23 points and 14 rebounds per game. Perkins went on to play basketball for University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During his four years at UNC, Perkins was part of a core group, with teammates Michael Jordan and James Worthy, who won the 1982 NCAA Championship. Shortly after concluding his collegiate career, Perkins helped lead the United States Olympic men's basketball team to a gold medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, CA. As a team co-captain, Perkins was sixth on the team in scoring, averaging 8.1 points and 5.4 rebounds on a U.S. team that breezed through the competition, winning all eight of its games by no less than 11 points.  Read More>>
