The NBA Rising Stars Challenge (formerly Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam) has seen many of the NBA's greats rise to stardom. A few years ago, Kevin Durant set the record scoring mark in the game with 46 points and last year’s Rookie Challenge brought old Kentucky college teammates DeMarcus Cousins and John Wall together again to help to take home a win for the Rookies
148-140. John Wall was dubbed MVP and had a record-breaking 22 assists (5 more than Chris Paul in 2007).

Will a team comprised of one current NBA player, one current WNBA player and an NBA legend be representing your NBA city at Amway Center?
Last year was a landmark year for the Haier Shooting Stars Competition. Team Texas’ Kenny Smith (TNT analyst and former Rocket) had the competition’s best first-round time, 31.8 seconds with an amazing half-court shot, while Team Atlanta ended up taking victory and its first Shooting Stars title in the 10-year history of the competition.
The Hawks' Al Horford was the hero for Atlanta, hitting the half-court shot on his team’s 18th attempt in the final round with finishing time of 1:10. Al Horford (Hawks), Coco Miller (WNBA's Atlanta Dream), Steve Smith (Legend), defeated Team Texas comprised of Dirk Nowitzki (Mavericks), Roneeka Hodges (WNBA's S.A. Silver Stars), Kenny Smith (Legend).

Get your adrenaline pumping at The Taco Bell® Skills Challenge and feel the anticipation of the countdown as four guards compete for the title in a two-round timed “obstacle course” featuring a series of passes, shooting, lay ups and agility skills.
2011’s challenge winner, Golden State guard Stephen Curry, posted a final round time of 28.2 seconds, the only sub-30 second score of the night, to beat Oklahoma City’s Russell Westbrook’s time of 30 seconds flat. With a lineup of dynamic playmakers that also included Chicago's Derrick Rose, New Orleans' Chris Paul and Washington's John Wall, it was one intriguing showdown.
